Light, and why it decides the day
Da Nang sits at 16° north, so the sun is high and hard for most of the day. Between 10:00 and 15:00 there is no soft light to work with: shadows are short and dark, skin shines, and the sky blows out. Every good photograph you have seen from here was taken at the edges of the day.
The practical consequence is that a shoot is a 90-minute window, not a day. Pick one location per window, be there fifteen minutes before the light, and accept that the middle of the day is for eating and for the indoor shots you do not really need.

Ba Na is the one that needs a decision the night before: the ticket is 1,000,000₫ per adult and the bridge is the point, so if the forecast is for cloud, move the shoot to the Marble Mountains and use the mountain another morning.
Hands, humidity and timing
In a pre-wedding album the hands are in almost every frame — rings, bouquets, holding a dress, touching a face — and Da Nang's humidity is unkind to a fresh set: 80% or more on a wet week, and the sea air does the rest. Getting a manicure the night before the shoot is the one scheduling mistake that shows in every photograph.
Two days before is the practical window: long enough for any swelling to settle and for a colour to be adjusted, short enough that the set is still intact. At LENA a manicure with gel polish is 230,000₫ (about 9 USD), and the bridal-style sets with 3D work start at 350,000₫ for special design.
Bring a photograph rather than a description. Every salon in the city works from pictures, and the difference between 'almond nude with a thin French line' and the reference photo is larger than it sounds when you are planning an album.
The day before
- Check the tide and the forecast for your shoot window, not for the day. A wet morning and a dry afternoon are common in October and November.
- Lay the dress or suit out flat and keep it out of the humidity — an air-conditioned room overnight, not a bathroom.
- Confirm the driver for 05:30. A Grab at that hour is possible but not guaranteed, and the whole shoot depends on arriving before the light, not with it.
One more thing worth booking: an hour indoors on the afternoon before, for hands and feet. It is not a luxury on a shoot schedule, it is the part that keeps the album from showing a rushed week.
What the album actually needs
A pre-wedding set is not a tour of Da Nang. It needs four kinds of frame: a wide shot that says where you are, a close shot of hands and rings, a walking shot in a street or a lane, and one at the water. That is why two locations are enough — one with height or water, one with texture.
The Marble Mountains give you texture and height in one place: caves, stone terraces, and a view back over the coast from the top of Thuy Son. Hoi An gives you lanes, walls and lanterns, and it is the only one of the four that works after dark. My Khe is the water, and the water is at its clearest at 06:00.
